Brightflower Nursery is the embodyment of my passion for beautiful flowers, intoxicating fragrances, good food, and glorious nature. We are located a little north of Stockton, IL on about 4 acres of land full of trees, shrubs, perennial and annual cut flowers, and three greenhouses. BFN is an oasis in the middle of mega corn and soybean fields. We are certified organic by MOSA and provide healthy herb and vegetable transplants for your garden. Our plants are sold at many garden centers and grocery stores throughout the Chicago area. Our transplants are offered late-April through June and our cut flowers are available in late-May through October.
Each year at Brightflower Nursery, we grow more plants, hire more employees, and have more fun. Chase and Shane have worked for us since 2008, Joan started in 2009, and Laura in 2010. Joan, Laura, and Jeanie are the BOBS--builders of bouquets. Joanbob is amazing on the reds and oranges, Jeanie the blues, and Laurabob prefers the pinks. We make a great team, repleate with good coffee and great food to keep us fueled. Chase delivers the beauties in record time, record safety, and always a record good mood. Shane provides us with the most incredible Habenero peppers and giant Swiss Chard, and tends the best veggie garden in all of Stockton.
We host tours on the grounds, you are welcome to set up a tour most anytime during our growing season, just call ahead. Some of our favorites are with Learn Great Foods when we combine a culinary event with Chef Michael. We also have the occasional unforgettable cooking class in our "garden center" taught by none other than our own Chef Michael. If you have an interest in setting up a cooking class for you and your friends, just call us. We need at least 6 cooks to have a class, you will leave stuffed and oh so satisfied.
Our peonies are spectacular and shipped around the country late-May through July. Since Mother Nature decides when the peonies open, we heasitate to take orders for peonies before the first week of June. Our many varieties are shown in our online store, please peruse and enjoy. Let us send you some to enhance your June or July party!
Enjoy our website; if you live in the area or are on your way to Galena for a weekend jaunt, please stop by. Join us on facebook for tips, what is blooming, recipes, and BFN gossip!
