Learn how to make a delicious court bouillon for the oven or grill; oven fry up a frozen fillet; taste some simple and mouth watering sauces to make your seafood memorable. May 22: Taste of Fine Dining: Mediterranean: North African and Moroccan 12:30 pm - 03:00 pm. Mix together vegetables, fruits, greens, grains, herbs and spices, and simmer. Serve over couscous or rice. Come explore the rich and vibrant recipes of the ancient Eastern Mediterranean cooking styles. Jun 05: Taste of Fine Dining: Mexican 12:30 pm - 03:00 pm. Tomatillo sauce on grilled pork loin; chili, corn, rice pilaf; fresh salsas and more all can be made in your kitchen and taste as good as your favorite restaurant (or better). We'll make and eat some delicious recipes and offer many good references for your libraries. Jun 19: Taste of Fine Dining: Basic Grill 12:30 pm - 03:00 pm. Grilling food is one of the most pleasurable ways to cook meat and vegetables; maybe it is because of the wonderful aromas, sizzling sounds, or because you are outside enjoying nature while cooking. We will grill a variety of meats and vegetables, learn how to start the fire without lighter fluid, and discuss a variety of marinades. Come dressed to go outside rain or shine. Jul 10: Taste of Fine Dining: Vegetarian Soups 12:30 pm - 03:00 pm. So many rich and flavorful meals can be made without meat. Gather some delicious recipes and good references to enhance your weekly meal planning and your cookbook libraries. We'll start with a delicious vegetarian stock to be used for many different delicious soups. Jul 17: Taste of Fine Dining: Pasta 12:30 pm - 03:00 pm. We'll make some fresh pasta and some delicious sauces from a basic fresh red sauce to rich cheese sauces, to the best basil pesto in the Midwest! Bring your appetite. Aug 07: Taste of Fine Dining: Mediterranean: French and Italian 12:30 am - 03:00 pm. Pick it fresh from the Potager garden, cook it, and savor the deliciousness. We will make savory herb and vegetable sauces to serve over fish, pasta, polenta and more. Aug 14: Taste of Fine Dining: Advanced Grill 12:30 pm - 03:00 pm. What is summer without Barbecue? We will make an entire meal including dessert on the grill. Take home recipes for marinades, poaching fish, grilling meats and vegetables and more. Come dressed for outside, rain or shine. Sep 11: Taste of Fine Dining: Regional South: Texas and Louisiana 12:30 am - 03:00 pm. Delicious Barbecue and Cajun feast dishes will be explored today. Bring your appetite; Michael will be sure to make his favorite jambalaya, etouffee, gumbo, and maybe some pralines. Oct 09: Taste of Fine Dining: Hearty Fare Soups and Stews 12:30 pm - 03:00 pm. We will warm up the garden center with some delicious stocks, soups and stews. What a wonderful way to cook some of our last of the season produce into hearty meals. Dress warm and bring your appetite. |
