Chef Michael Staver is an award-winning barbeque chef; he is currently
a chef/instructor at Kendall Culinary College and the University of Illinois
at Chicago teaching The Art of Barbeque, Food Science, Cheese Making,
Vegetarian Cooking, among others. He's appeared in the Chicago Tribune
and the Journal Standard for his culinary skills and locally
works with Learn Great Foods in Mt. Carroll.
He enjoys catering "teachingî dinner parties. He is just
as comfortable with an intimate gathering of 6-12 as he is with a delicious
buffet for 50. Book clubs, birthdays, anniversaries, or happy to be alive
celebrations; Chef Michael will make your party memorable.

We have a lot of fun at our classes and this year we are offering two different
themes. Simple and Fresh: is an introduction
to cooking skills, using whole foods and fresh ingredients to make delicious
food from the garden or grocery store to your table. A
Taste of Fine Dining: is a culinary event in which you will learn
delicious menu possibilities to create in your own kitchen. In each class,
tastes of all of the items will be provided along with the recipes.
Classes will be offered on the second and fourth Saturday
of the month beginning in April and lasting through October. The last
class will be the first Saturday of November. Dates are subject to change
due to Chef's teaching schedule. We will make every attempt to reschedule
the class to include all participants. We will need a minimum of 4 cooks
to offer each class.

Chef Michael will be offering: The Art of Barbecue and The Art of Smoked
Meats on weekends during the summer and fall. Both classes include snacks
and food enough to take home a meal for two. You will prepare the meats,
all side dishes, and will take away lots of tips enhance your kitchen
skills.
Cost per person: $70.00
Cost per couple: $135.00
Classes require a four-person minimum. Menus can be
customized; any additional items requested may increase the per person
price
